Coasterra is one of the newest master-planned communities in Palmetto, Florida. It sits in northern Manatee County, just off I-75 and I-275, so St. Petersburg, Tampa, Bradenton and Sarasota are all an easy drive. It’s a good fit for first-time buyers, growing families and anyone who wants a brand-new home with a modern layout, energy-efficient construction and a builder warranty, without paying Lakewood Ranch prices.

Builders and Neighborhoods

Coasterra is made up of several smaller neighborhoods, each with its own builder and style of home:

  • Coasterra Premier and Reserve Series by Meritage Homes: energy-efficient single-story and two-story homes with open kitchens, lofts and covered lanais.
  • Esplanade at Coasterra by Taylor Morrison: a gated, resort-style neighborhood with a clubhouse, fitness center, tennis, a restaurant and a dog park. It’s popular with buyers who want a lock-and-leave lifestyle.
  • The Palms at Coasterra: larger family homes with four to six bedrooms and some of the lowest HOA fees in the community.
  • The Cay and The Cove at Coasterra, plus homes by Cardel Homes, M/I Homes and David Weekley Homes, which add even more floor plans to choose from.

Most homes were built in 2025 or later, and many are still under construction. That means you can often choose your finishes or move into a quick move-in home within a few months.

Homes and Prices

When we wrote this in November 2026, homes in Coasterra were listed from the low $300s to about $800,000. They ranged from two-bedroom homes of about 1,500 square feet to six-bedroom, two-story homes of more than 3,500 square feet. Nearly every listing is a single-family home with an attached garage and a covered lanai. The listings above update throughout the day, so you’re always seeing what’s on the market now.

Amenities and HOA

The centerpiece of Coasterra is a 65-acre lake with lakeside walking and jogging paths. The new Watermark amenity center adds resort-style pools, and there are sports fields, playgrounds and trails throughout the community. Esplanade at Coasterra has its own private amenities for its residents.

HOA fees vary by neighborhood. Some sections pay well under $100 a month, while Esplanade’s full-service HOA costs more but covers more. Ask us about the exact fees, and any CDD assessment, for the home you’re interested in.

Schools and Surrounding Area

Homes in Coasterra are generally zoned for James Tillman Elementary, Buffalo Creek Middle and Palmetto High School. School boundaries can change, so check with the School District of Manatee County for the specific address.

Outside the community, you’re a short drive from the Ellenton Premium Outlets, downtown Palmetto’s riverfront parks and Emerson Point Preserve. The Gulf beaches on Anna Maria Island are close by, and the Sunshine Skyway Bridge is just up I-275 for days in St. Pete.
